Classes at LuxeFibers Studio
Our events will restart on the third Saturday of October 2026 and run through February 2027 — See you then, needles in hand!
LuxeFibers Studio offers “Sit & Knit” events for its students and experienced knitters from the community on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:30AM–12:30 PM (except on federal holidays).
Beginner/Advanced Beginner Knitting
YOUR CHOICE: MORNING WALK CAP, SAMPLER SCARF, OR JASON’s HAT (CHOOSE ONE) $45
Learn how to: cast yarn on needles, practice various stitches, and develop event knitting tension
Three 1.5 hour classes. Ages 12 and up.
SKILLS NEEDED
Absolutely none. Our beginner class is ideal for those completely new to the craft, those who wish to improve their skills, or those who have not knitted in years and need a refresher.

MATERIALS
You choose the product you wish to knit:
“Morning Walk Hat” pattern by Ann Pattern (available on Ravelry)
“Sampler Scarf” pattern is on hand in the Studio
“Jason’s Hat” pattern by Melissa Thomson (available on Ravelry)
230 yards lt. worsted weight wool, wool blend, or other natural fiber in a light color. Recommend you do not use cotton or acrylic fibers in dark colors. Yarn is available in our Studio; we have several colors you can choose from.
Scarf: Knitting needles in a US size #6 straight or #6 -16" circular or size required to produce the gauge.
Hat: Knitting needles in a US size #4 - 16" circular. a #6 - 16" circular and size #6 double pointed needles (DPNs). Highly recommend circular metal needles with wire connector. Circular bamboo with monofilament connector have been found to be frustrating to those new to knitting.
NOTE: Hobby Lobby, Walmart and Michael's have very limited knitting supplies. Recommend seeking out supplies at least 1-2 weeks ahead of time, and by visiting 'Needles in the Haymarket' as your 1st stop to shop.
Misc: darning needle, 3 ring markers, row counter (optional), cable needle — close to size 6
(Note: Needles in the Haymarket is a good source for knitting equipment - Gainesville, VA)
PREPARATION
Be sure to come to the studio early enough to have your yarn purchased and wound into balls before the start of class (suggested 15-30 minutes).

While supplies are not included in the price of the class, we find that almost all of our classes can be taken with between $15 and $30 in supplies. I've found "Needles in the Haymarket" located in Gainesville, VA to be very helpful.

Payment is due upon time of registration. We are unable to hold spaces in classes and workshops without prepayment.

Class fees are not refundable unless the class is canceled by the shop. If cancellation is made outside of 72 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit for use for any future purchase with the shop. Classes with fewer than two students may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. Your registration is valid for the dates listed in the description and may not be transferred to other class dates.
If you have a last minute cancellation, please contact the shop. If we are able to fill your space, we are happy to provide you with a store credit, even within the 72 hour time frame. We understand that emergencies happen, so we will do everything possible to find someone to take your spot. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a store credit or transfer if we are not able to fill your space.

LuxeFibers Studio follows the Federal Government when determining whether to cancel classes due to poor weather conditions. If these agencies close for weather, we will certainly delay or reschedule classes for that day. If we do not reschedule classes, but you do not feel comfortable commuting in the weather, please contact the studio for attending a subsequent class held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM ET.

We want to be sure that no more than 6-8 students are in any given class. If the class that you want to take is full or isn’t being offered at a time that works for you, we can add you to the waitlist. To be added to the waitlist for a class, please send an email to info@tweedsidefarm.com.
